Hydrologic Outlook
Details: ...Rivers and Streams in the Yampa, Green, White, and Duchesne Basins Will Increase to a Second Peak This Week into the Weekend due to Snowmelt, Rainfall and Reservoir Releases... Flows in area rivers, streams, and creeks will continue to run at elevated levels as the recent snowmelt and reservoir releases work downstream. Significant flooding is NOT forecast at this time as many waterways peak this week into the weekend. Rainfall is forecast Friday into Saturday. Rivers, streams and creeks could react quickly and run at bankfull conditions causing localized lowland flooding due to the extra water. Anyone planning to recreate on area waterways should maintain awareness and use an abundance of caution in or near the water. Areas that will need to be watched closely include: The Green River, Yampa River, Elk River, Duchesne River and other small streams in Northeastern Utah and Northwestern Colorado.
